Burglar resistance is a property of the complete element, not of a single component. Under DIN EN 1627 a window, door, sliding system or façade is only burglar-resistant once the assembled unit has been tested and classified. The standard defines six resistance classes, RC 1 to RC 6, where RC 1 is the lowest level of protection and RC 6 the highest, and each step upward raises the static force, the tool set and the attack time the element must withstand. Schüco tests and classifies to DIN EN 1627 at its own OneLab Technology Center, both during product development and as accredited testing for project-specific and special solutions built by its fabricators. KR specifies and fabricates to the class a project actually demands.

FB 7 is the Schüco platform ceiling, not a standard rating of any base system. Blast-resistant XR systems require special fabricator approval and project-specific configuration.
Specialist options — separate systems
Blast resistance is not carried by any standard Schüco window, door or façade system KR lists. It is delivered by two dedicated XR systems, each of which requires special fabricator approval from Schüco and project-specific configuration.

Blast-resistant mullion/transom façade successfully tested to ISO 16933 with the classification EXV 19 (hazard level D, “very low hazard”). Depending on the glass build, class EXV 15, EXV 19 or EXV 25 can be achieved; the class is fixed per project and special fabricator approval is required.
Bullet resistance shown on this page as EN 1522 FB 7 is the Schüco platform ceiling — “our systems meet bullet resistance requirements up to class FB 7 in accordance with EN 1522 and EN 1523” — and is not a standard rating of any individual base system. Ballistic and blast performance is always specified, approved and certified per project.
01 — Planning benefit
Burglar resistance classified on the assembled element to DIN EN 1627, across the same Schüco window, door, sliding and façade systems KR already fabricates.
Six resistance classes, RC 1 to RC 6. RC 1 is the lowest level of protection, RC 6 the highest, and the requirements placed on the element rise with the class.
Schüco describes RC 2 as the standard level of protection in German private residential construction, RC 3 as suited to somewhat increased risk, and classes above RC 3 as intended for particularly vulnerable and highly sensitive areas.
Five product groups can be tested and classified under DIN EN 1627: windows, doors, gates and sliding systems; French doors and other closures; façades; grilles; and sliding and roller shutters.
Classification is decided by testing, not by specification alone — an element is burglar-resistant only once it has achieved a class.
02 — System integration
Testing and classification are carried out at the Schüco OneLab Technology Center, both through the development programme to market readiness and as accredited testing of project-specific and special solutions for Schüco partners and fabricators.
A DIN EN 1627 test comprises three parts: resistance to static loads (DIN EN 1628), resistance to dynamic loads (DIN EN 1629) and resistance to manual attack (DIN EN 1630).
Static loading is applied with a pressure ram at the corners of the opening elements, the corners of the infill and the locking points. For an RC 3 test several points are loaded at 6000 N.
Dynamic loading strikes the specimen with a 50 kg impact body at specified points, simulating a shoulder impact; the drop height depends on the class.
Manual attack uses a tool set and attack time set by the class. For RC 3 the attack time is limited to five minutes and may include several screwdrivers and a large crowbar; creating an opening large enough for passage is the failure criterion.
Submitting an element for test requires two identical specimens, the intended resistance class, drawings in PDF or DWG, and a parts list. KR prepares this package for project-specific units.

Figures below are the published DIN EN 1627 test parameters. “Not published” means Schüco publishes no figure for that property. The class an individual element achieves depends on the system, hardware, infill and installation, and is confirmed by KR at tender.

Access required Schüco publishes burglar-resistance test reports and system certification behind a registered login. The files are not downloadable from this page.
KR holds current documentation as a Schüco fabrication and installation partner and will supply the relevant certificates and test evidence for a nominated project — or arrange authorised access through Schüco's architect workplace.
06 — Specification texts
